The Reverse Geocoding API converts a pair of latitude and longitude coordinates into a human-readable address or the name of the nearest place or point of interest. It is the opposite of forward geocoding, which turns an address into coordinates. For example, a reverse lookup of “-33.464050, -70.668097” returns Club Hípico de Santiago.
Reverse geocoding can be used at different levels of detail: coarse results return administrative areas such as the city or country, while fine-grained results provide specific addresses and nearby points of interest.
